Fees

The question of fees is discussed in complete transparency from the very first meeting. In accordance with the rules of professional conduct applicable to lawyers, a fee agreement is systematically drawn up to ensure complete clarity on billing terms.

Billing methods

Fees are set according to the complexity of the case, the time spent, the stakes involved in the dispute or the advice required. Several billing methods are available:

  • Time-based: Fees are calculated according to the number of hours actually spent on the case, based on an hourly rate determined in advance. An estimate of the foreseeable time required is communicated at the outset.
  • Fixed price: For certain foreseeable services (contract drafting, legal advice, standardized procedures), a fixed global amount is agreed in advance.
  • Result-based: A basic fee (flat-rate or time-based) may be supplemented by a result-based fee, corresponding to a percentage of the sums obtained or saved. This billing method is subject to a specific agreement, in compliance with ethical rules.

First
appointment

The first meeting, to explain the situation and assess possible solutions, may be billed at a rate communicated in advance. If the case is entrusted to the firm after this consultation, the fee for this initial meeting can be included in the fee agreement.

Payment facilities

In order to guarantee access to the law for all, a payment schedule can be proposed according to the customer's needs.

Legal expenses insurance

If you are covered by legal expenses insurance, partial or total payment of fees may be considered, subject to the conditions set out in your insurance contract.
